Jacobean Gold and Pewter Sconce

A three branch wall sconce by the E.F. Caldwell company having Jacobean style low relief strapwork details. The partial gilded finish of the strapwork contrasts with the matte pewter (actually dull nickel) ground. This selective gilding over a plated surface is the result of a painstaking masking technique and a specialty of Caldwell's.
