Antique Lighting Restoration

Remains Lighting Co. is uniquely qualified to take on antique lighting restoration projects. With more than 26 years of experience and over 10,000 historic fixtures restored, our team continues to approach every project with care, precision, and deep technical expertise.

We combine historically accurate methods and finishes with modern design and replication techniques, resulting in pieces that are museum quality, technically state of the art, and time-tested for durability and functionality.

Our extensive firsthand experience in antique lighting restoration is supplemented by background research in national design archives as well as the Remains Library of archival drawings and texts on lighting design and metalworking.

Our Restoration Process

All aspects of restoration are handled in house, from fabrication of missing parts, to refinishing, to discrete rewiring for modern code-compliant and energy efficient use. Should retrofit or supplemental lamping be a project requirement, we advise on the most functional and practical method, with consideration given to the historic integrity of the fixture and its material makeup.

Our Restoration Expertise

Our team has extensive expertise in antique lighting restoration and repair, with experience working on chandeliers, pendants, sconces, flush mounts, and exterior lanterns—among many other fixture types. We also restore and repair antique accessories such as lamps, candlesticks, and mirrors, with a special focus on fireplace tools, notably andirons, fenders, and screens.

We approach each project with precision and respect for the original craftsmanship—restoring beauty, function, and longevity to every piece.
