A pair of antique sconces by the E. F. Caldwell Company, of New York, in their original smoke-washed oxblood paint finish, over brass. The simple oval forms of the backplates are echoed by the delightful curve of the arm up and over the rosette, a signature feature of Caldwell's work in the 1920s and 30s.
