Celebrating New Accessories and a Decade of Collaboration with Commune
We’re proud to release a new category within our ongoing collaboration with Commune: a collection of home accessories, now available as part of the Commune collection at Remains Lighting. We are excited to be offering wholesale and drop-shipping opportunities to select retailers for this collection of coordinated finishing touches.

This launch marks ten years of working alongside Roman Alonso and Steven Johanknecht, whose commitment to thoughtful design and utility aligns with our own. Our collaboration began with a made-to-order lighting collection — quietly sculptural, continually useful, and built to last. Over the years, the partnership has grown into something deeper: a shared language of making, rooted in materials, form, and function.
Roman and Steven have always approached design with a clear, steady eye for purpose. The objects we create together are meant to be used, not just to be beautiful. They personally live with many of these pieces in their own homes and studios, and they specify them regularly in their projects made for their exacting clientele. The products were designed to meet their high standards of utility, durability, and versatility. It’s a challenge we’ve welcomed, and one that continues to push us in the best way.
This new line of accessories brings that sensibility to a more intimate scale. Designed for desks, dressing tables, kitchens, side tables, and bathrooms, these pieces are as considered as any of our larger fixtures—built to be used daily, to hold weight and purpose, and to age with grace. They reflect Commune’s belief that utility and beauty aren’t separate goals, but one and the same.
We’re excited to share the new Commune tabletop and vanity collection with you. These are pieces made to live with: to hold, to use, and to keep.

To celebrate this milestone and offer a first look at the new collection, in June we hosted a private dinner at the garden of our Brooklyn factory. We invited a small group of special guests for an evening of food, conversation, and connection around fruitful, collaborative design and craft.
Dinner and wine were by il Buco, the legendary New York restaurant founded by fellow 2025 Wallpaper* 400 honoree, Donna Lennard, whose food and style has long been an inspiration in its own right: simple, grounded, and expressive. The table was set with il Buco Vita dinnerware and linens were by Studio Ford (available for sale in Commune's Shop). Floral arrangements were made in-house by our VP, Leeann Latsch, with flowers from our neighbors in Manhattan on the West 28th Street Flower Block. Brass Josef cups were lined and filled with the bouquets.
The evening wasn’t just a celebration of what we’ve made together — it was a reflection of how we work: surrounded by community, built on trust, and grounded in shared values.
