A pair of antique double light sconces by the New York maker E. F. Caldwell in an ususual finish combination of a dark ruddy copper background with silver details. The diamond-shaped backplates have a delicate rope-twist inset border farming the acanthus leaf center. The candle cups and waxpans are set on an oval hoop of twisted hexagonal bar, and are detailed with fruit, vines, and more rope-twist borders.
